Anemone tank

I know that most people agree, generally so do I, that tanks need to mature in order for anemones to adjust properly to a tank. Wondering if a tank is running for a few months, and has great water quality...say nitrates of 2 or less and phosphate of .02 or less. Is it possible for the anemone to adjust properly and thrive?


I was thinking of making a anemone tank out of my newest finalized build, but don't care to wait for a year for the tank to mature just to do this. Also don't want to stock full of corals while waiting, just to have them stung by a nem walking around finding its spot.

I believe the reason why people say wait is for stability purposes. Clean water is important like you have, but the concern with young tanks is ph, and alk swings.

saltyphish is on the money, its always best to be sure the tank is completely stable before investing in a sensitive animal

Sorry for the late reply. I am running a apex on it, from day one ph and temp have been stable. Temp have fluctuated a bit do to the cold now, but other then that it has pretty much stayed the same.

Alk I will check again. So far it hasn't varied much, but there have only been a few tests done so far. No real curve to see yet.

I would say as long as there is stability in the water parameters, that you are good to go to add anemones.
