Hello guys. Im new here.
This is my 1st thread down here when i start cycling with live coral almost 3 weeks ago.
Thread 'Cycling with coral?' https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/cycling-with-coral.984963/

So tonight (10pm) i was feeding my corals with Red Sea Energy Plus AB+ Coral Nutrition. Turned off my pump and wavemaker. Target feeding all my corals. Leave it for 15 mins. Then about to turn back on my wavemaker to let it broadcast the remains in the tank for another 30 mins.

That was the moment i saw my cleaner shrimp crawling on my anemone! I picked my flashlight to see what he's up to. Then i saw some kind of torn/tear from the anemone mouth. But by the time i took my phone to take photo, she has closed up the mouth and the tear.

This what looks like the tearing, but now closed up after my cleaner shrimp crawled on that area.

This what she looks like under blue light.

This is pic of her earlier today (5pm) after i fed chunk of shrimp (with sunlight)

I have not tested my parameters today as its already late and im about to sleep.
Only tested my salinity at between 1.025-1.026

Tank is only 18 days old.
[Day I put them in the tank]

Corals :
Goniopora (from sea) [Day 1]
Monticap (from sea) [Day 10]
Anemone (from LFS) [Day 13]
Organ Pipe Coral (from LFS) [Day 14]

Fishes :
2 clownfish [Day 14]
1 scopas tang [Day 13]
1 japan surgeonfish [Day 14]
1 bluestreak goby [Day 14]
1 six line wrasse [Day 14]
1 cleaner shrimp [Day 14]
5 trochus snails [Day 13]

Since i put her in the tank, she been sitting there. Just creeping under the rock. Already attached to the glass.

Is this tear i should worry about? Is my cleaner shrimp gonna stress her?
Yes i know my tank is too young for anemone, or for any corals for that matter.
But any input is appreciated. Thank you. ;)

I think you are moving a bit fast with the tank! Anemones are not a coral and generally need the stability of an established system and/or seasoned keeper.

That being said unless there is a deeper issue the tear should heal on it's own. I would avoid feeding it until the tear is healed.

@OrionN hopefully sees, he knows the warning signs best. From the pics, I don't see any gas build up under the flesh.

a 3 week old tank with dead rock does seem really fast for an anemone, though, so I would take things slow for a couple months. I am sure the uglies will show their face at some point.

Thank you for the input. I understand.
But is cleaner shrimp going to be a trouble for the anemone?

1. How do you know it's a "her"? Can you explain how you figured out the sex of it?

2. It looks very bleached...
1. Im not gonna answer that.

2. Is it? That just how it looks like when i got it from the LFS. The LFS only gets supplies from their fishermen. From the sea.

I never buy anemones that are white or clear in appearance...those are usually bleached and rarely live long in captivity.
The LFS only has blue lights in the coral rooms. It looks green just like that.
Oh well, already bought it. Guess i just have to care for it for as long I can.
Thanks for the input though.

Update on the anemone.
Tonight it turned to a ball after pooping.

Hopefully this is normal behaviour.

Tested my water parameters today.
Might have overfed my tank yesterday and today because my Scopas has been harrassing other tankmates for foods.

Salinity -1.026/35
pH - 7.9
Ammonia - 0.5-1.0
Nitrite - 2.0
Nitrate - 20
Phosphate - 0.25
Alkalinity - 10

All tested with API kits.
Im using seachem marine buffer to increase pH. Not sure how long will it takes effect.

Do this with the api buy salfert test kits api imo are not reliable. Leave the nem be look for signs of gaping mouth tentacles coming off not footing and a smell of death when you smell your water .

Opss. I didnt see u editted and extend your comments.
Ive had diatoms appeared just under 1 week cycle. But its all gone now. My tang, surgeonfish and snails picked everything clean. I had a goldspotted rabbitfish too eating the algaes, but in seperate tank now because it has been nipping on my corals. Hopefully the uglies dont come anytime soon if ever.

Some of my nems get annoyed when alk starts getting higher than 9 to 9.5ish.

Has it been moving around at all since you noticed this?

From the pictures it looks fine to me... there are such things as white nems :)

It has not moved anywhere since the day i put in the tank. Just sliding under the rock. Few days ago, I tried to move it because thats where my goby and shrimp stays, but its already attached itself to the bottom tank glass. Dont wanna stress it, I just let it stays.
