Anenomes okay on dry rock?

Hi, I've had by nano 15-gallon tank set up for about 1 year with only a pair of clowns. My previous rock was infested with algae, bad hitchhikers, and more. I threw the rock away and put a dry rock. The sand is all aged. Ammonia, ETC is all good. Do you think its okay to add a BTA for my clowns?

Fine, if the sand is aged like the rock is.

Bubble algae, Brown hair algae, bristle worms, vertamid snails.

I would say its been about 1-2 weeks since i added there is no sign of algae. The main issue i had is brown hair algae, and bubble algae. Ive removed about 90 percent of hair algae/

My new dry rock is about 2 weeks old when my sand is about 1 years old. Just to clarify its fine?

The anemone will attach to the dry rock with no issues IMO.

I’d consider some Mexican Turbo snails for the hair algae. If the bubble algae comes back, get emerald crabs from Reef Cleaners (online.)

Reefcleaners.org has them and they have been recommended by many when I have been researching CUC.

If the algae is minor, get 1 or 2.

I hope it works out better for you than it did for me. I removed all my live rock from one of my established tanks and rescaped it with dry rock. I didn't have an algae problem then I just wanted a different look. I have an algae problem now that has been an on going mess for almost two years now.

Yes, But my previous rock had algae. I didn't want to have a different look. I wanted to remove the harmful hitchhikers and the bad algae.

What I meant was the new dry rock is going to go through an ugly stage just like a new tank. The only way I have been able to avoid nuisance algae using dry rock in a display is having the sump full of live rock. I would never pull live rock again and add all dry. It's basically like starting over.

Also stating that i only had one very heavy rock just in case you need to follow up on that.

I would think it would attach and be ok but not having added one to dry rock I'm hesitant to say yes since I'm not really sure. I assume your talking about a bubble tip nem. Will your lighting support a nem? They need quite a bit of light to thrive. Just asking because it sounds like you may be new to keeping nems.

I’d start with one. You can add more as the need progresses. Manual removal with a toothbrush is going to be very helpful if the algae starts taking hold.
