How high are the lights off the water line @Orphek ?

Are the iCons that much more powerful than the previous model? Here are my numbers a few months ago with the previous model. V4G2, my lights are 18 inches up as well. There are 2 lights. I used the apogee 510 par meter (I think that is the number).

Yes the iCon LEDs are stronger .

So they are at LEAST twice as strong than the V4G2. If not more. My highest number read was 260 or so in my tank. I was a little shocked by the low numbers and actually canceled a few sps pieces I had ordered that were coming from 500-600 par out of concern they might not acclimate well in my tank. That’s a bummer. I upgraded mine about 1 month or so before the iCon came out so (from V2G1) so I wasn’t keen on shelling out the money. But for par sake I can see the advantage.

I am running 3 of these 13" above my water on my DD300 and i absolutely love these lights ! I previously was running a total of 11... 60"
T5 bulbs and 2 Blue LED strips to get the same " look " , these are heavy duty lights and the fans are so quiet you think they are not running !

any doubts at all put them away because these are a game changer !

The Orphek is one fixture that I don't understand why it has a Hotspot in the middle when all of the LEDs are placed separately and there is no concentration of LEDs in one spot.

Do the middle leds have different lenses than the rest?

Think about each led as small light .
The center get the light from all other LEDs as well more then the LEDs at the side . But if the tank is 240cm / 94inch
and we use 4 units . So we will get all over same par only at the first unit and last unit we get less .
It call par sharing.

For the group here we can make PAR map ,we need to know how many units and how high the light hang from the bottom of the tank , then we do par test at air and you can divided the number by ~1.32 this will give the results at water .
