Another Gig in Quarantine

We just picked up this gig for my daughter’s tank last week and today is the 7th day in quarantine. We started out with 250mg of cipro in 5 gallons of water for the first 3 days and then reduced it to 125mg for the next 4. 100 percent daily water change with water from the display tank that it will be housed in. It was getting about 150 par for the first few days and we have been ramping it up a little at a time so it’s getting about 250 now. Today is the last day of cipro unless something drastically changes and then will observe for 2-3 more days without medication. Here is a picture from her live webcam that was taken just a few minutes ago.

Looks good. Might turn out to be one of those multicolor "oil slick" gigs.

If you have a turkey baster or something similar, try to carefully remove the little black specks from the gig's mouth. That's what it's trying to expel. If it can't inflate, it won't be able to remove it from its system.

(Oops... sorry I just re-read and realize that it's now day 7 and this was day 1. But for others reading this, it's a reminder to remove any brown specks, pellets, bits, etc. as soon as you see them).

The anemone was placed in the display a couple of days ago and has moved mostly into the shade and into lower flow. It looks really good despite the fact that it doesn’t really look like a traditional gig yet and hasn’t deflated in over a week.
I’m assuming it will move into the light and flow when it is ready.
