Another tank lighting suggestion thread

Good morning all.

I am afraid this is another “what lights for my tank thread.”

I am setting up a Reefer 300 G2 tank. It is basically 36” x 22” x 22”. I am just planning on soft corals and LPS. But I would also eventually love to have clams. I have read a number of other threads, but most don’t mention lighting for clams…

I’m not a huge gadget guy, and don’t need the latest and greatest. On the other hand, money isn’t a huge factor, but I do like to get good value for my money.

I am leaning in a few directions…

HyperReef 200 Gen 2. $320.

Meridian 24 (with or without an Edge 24). $700 +/- $200

Hydra Edge. $400 or $700. I’m a little confused on what model I would need, the 44HD or the 68HD. They both list the coverage area as 30” x 30”. Not sure what PAR they each yield.

NooPsyche K7 PRO III. $195 each. I haven’t found the stated coverage area for this so I don’t know if I would need one or two.

Or, I am open to other suggestions.

Anyway, I would appreciate any thoughts or advice any of you might have.

Noopsyche K7 I would say 2. I ran 6 over my 180g 72x24x24 and was able to get 300 par on the bottom where I kept clams on the left end .
This is the tank shortly before I broke it down.

I have two photon 32s over my reefer 300 which is mostly acros but they're discontinued. I really like the photons so if the meridian is as good or better I might be tempted to go that route.

I’m glad to see Nicrew coming out of the woodwork and gaining more popularity. I recently upgraded from a Gen 1 HyperReef 100 to a Gen 2 HyperReef 100 and loving it. So naturally I’d say check out the Nicrew.
