Is this torch tip bailing out or just the torch shrinking up because it doesn’t like something.

everyday about this time (1-2h) before lights go out, it’ll shrink up.

Tired Good Night GIF by HBO Max

Mine start "going to bed" about an hour before lights out, too. I haven't noticed it splitting, but I'll keep an eye out for that after reading this thread, too -- just in case. I actually considered adjusting my light schedule a little since most things seem to "go night night" about an hour early, but my sundown routine starts around that time, so I think it's normal and I'm not ready to rock the boat there.

So coming back to this thread !

Torch has been growing but it seems like there’s more receding into the skeleton

Should I be concerned

Yes something is off in your tank and the torch is showing it in the recession.
could too much or not enough water flow be a cause here? I have some torches that I got a few months ago (2.5) and they seem to be doing well but its tissue has receded a bit since I've gotten it ~4mm max. Could this be due to the new tank environment?

There are a lot of variables.

Yes flow could be the issue.

Could you grab a video of the flow it's in?

Do you know what par it's under?

What's your p04 and n03 ?

Po4 usually .04
Nitrates 10-15ppm
Salinity 1.025
Ph 8.2

It’s midway in the tank with 60% highs during the day

Yes those are usually pretty stable , never see more than 20-30ppm difference over long periods of time. Sometimes they go a month without any swing maybe 5ppm

My temp is always within 80-81

I don’t dose anything, I run filter floss, chemipure blue (which was after this issue began) , co2 scrubber
