Seems to be working like a champ. Like I said earlier, I don’t have the app so the roller is still on the “factory settings” but it is working flawlessly right now. The filter roll appears to be working well too. No binding up or anything. I’m probably about half way through after I’m guessing a couple months. No complaints so far.

A lot of changes since my last post. I’ll try to post a couple progress reports and additions when I have the time. Recently I added an AWC with Neptune DOS and couldn’t be happier. I ended up running some RO tubing up the wall and up to the attic eventually coming down to my garage. I was worried a little at first because I live in Florida and my attic and garage get pretty hot especially during the summer. Fortunately for me I have tested/monitored the water temp of the tank and as it is only a little water change at a time (roughly 1.7% a day) there is no fluctuations that I can see. I am running 2 small changes per day from a 32 gallon reservoir. I install an RODI fill line on the side with float and shut off valve. I also added a water pump I bought off amazon to use when I am mixing the salt. I have a smart plug to turn on 30 minutes prior to every AWC. So far it has become a game changer and I have no idea how people have done water changes without one. In time I’ll probably clean up the lines, etc, but for now my make shift station is doing well.

Just curious, when you were switching out the DOS to RO fittings, did you use teflon tape for the threads? or was it not needed and no leaks? Thanks!

Thank you for the update on the roller. I have the reef factory M roller and I need a new roll. Did you purchase the L size bubble magus roll? I'm assuming you have the M reef factory roller.

Yes that is correct. I have the M factory roller with a Large BM roll. They should both be something like 7.87” wide.

Just curious, when you were switching out the DOS to RO fittings, did you use teflon tape for the threads? or was it not needed and no leaks? Thanks!

I’m not sure if it was required but i did add plumbers tape to the threads. In addition I cut the conical tip of the DOS fitting so I got a good fit. No leaks whatsoever. I have even shook the line while running to simulate the vibration and have never have seen even a drip. Hope this helps

No. I’ve seen the videos of people cutting out the tabs but I did not have to. I’m guessing the newer models are plug and play. I have removed the roller when I was cycling and put back in the filter socks. So you can always go back to socks and vice versa.

Another couple updates. Tank is coming along slowly. I’m hoping I am out of the ugly phase and just have a little amount of algae. I even have my first sightings of some coralline algae. My fish are doing well and have some round about beginner fish (clown, bicolor blend, royal gramma, YWG, cardinal) and ofcourse a plethora of CUC. Right when my algae was the worst is when I decided to add some CUC and those guys seemed like lawnmowers to most of the algae. Props to Reef Cleaners for the inverts. All came healthy and I even sent some pics and got immediate feedback and what was needed.

In addition I added a top to my tank and decided to go with Top Lids. I’ve all the reviews on all the popular brands out there and honestly liked the look of Top Lids the most. I can honestly say I couldn’t be happier. There was a little mix up at first but there identified it and took care of the issues. So another shout out to them.

I’ve been pretty liberal with my coral frags that I’ve collected from various online suppliers and I’ll have to say my favorite have been AquaSD. I’m sure I’ve probably over fragged my tank, but in time I guess I’ll see what I like and don’t like. Time will tell but I’m happy with everything and surprisingly everything is still alive and kicking. With the added corals and every growing demand, I was getting pretty burnt out and testing and adding Alk and Cal. I know Im a newbie but have no idea how this was done without testers and dosers. Any I added a second Dos and a Trident and those things are life savers. I had an old IPad laying around and decided to mount that next to the tank so I can always control feed modes and what not and now I don’t have to go looking for my phone.

And a shot of where I added my Dos. As my corals are small I can get away with these small dosing containers. I like where they are and can stay hidden but I’ll likely switch these out with the common Vos containers so I am not having to fill these up every 1-2 weeks. Pic isn’t the best but you get the idea. 5 months into this journey…

Thanks for the update! Sounds like things are coming along quite nicely. I like seeing how everyone configures the cabinets of the UNS r system tanks. Looks like you’ve done a great job keeping it clean!
