I have done some research and it seems this (Image) tank was made between 1920 and 1928
Here is a link to some interesting tankshttps://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/51791464444346182/

The stand might be old. The tank isnt. Black plastic rim tells me its a 2010-2020 tank.

Nice. I seen an old brass framed tank when I was overseas, possibly Spain. It wasn't this ornate though. This one appears to have a modern tank in a vintage frame. The one I seen had the glass attached directly to the brass frame, no rim, and the glass was that blue green color of early 1900s glass.

I used to have a small slate bottom tank.... anybody have one of those? I love the character of this tank..

I had three slate bottomed, metal framed tanks in the 1980's, two 15 gallon and a 5 gallon. I ran those until the late 80's. I had one at college. I also had some old HOB filters , light hoods and reference materials from late '60's to the 70's.

A friend was a HS science teacher and when he retired I got a lot of his aquarium stuff and is the reason I really got into fish.

I came across a collection of antique tanks once and thought it was fascinating. I'll try to find it again. Anything that relates to the history of our hobby is so interesting. If someone wrote a book about it, I'd read it.

But I second @cshuston, it's got a modern trim.

You should look up Philip Henry Gosse, he pretty much invented aquariums in the 1800’s and wrote a book about it!
