The AF museum at Wright-Patt is great! It's been years since I've been there - I'm sure it's even better now. Saw my first ever IMAX film there on the shuttle program.

The WWII museum in New Orleans is another must-see if you get the chance. Give yourself two days to see it all. Boeing has an entire building devoted to warplanes.

Had I not accepted my current role, I would most definitely be back in that industry. I have such a wanderlust & sleep oh so well on planes. :)

I flew C-130s in the ANG. Loved every minute of it. Great airplane. Almost *too* capable! :)

MCO is a great airport. I love the smaller airports, but as far as larger airports go - there’s none better! Love being based there.

Did a ton of scuba diving during my military days - Truk Lagoon, Palau, Majuro... many of the Pacific Islands. Don’t get the chance to do it much anymore, but definitely miss it.

That‘s a cool taxi light. Gotta look into getting one.

Small world. I was stationed on Guam in 1973-74 (including the Saigon evacuation) and I also dove several of the Marianas, Truk, Saipan and a special trip to New Caledonia (Grand Terre) a remarkable reef, second only to The Great Barrier Reef in size I believe. Great times.

The Boeing 737 is the aircraft I’ve traveled on the most during my time in the industry (AirTran Airways/Southwest)! I love love love it.

I have always been into aviation and anything up in the sky. When I was 17, I had 10hrs and a solo in a 172 through Civil Air Patrol. After that, I had a difficult time finding an instructor at my age so put that on hold and found out that life outside of an airplane is WAY more fun. I haven't jumped in a few years since having kids, but I'll be back up there soon. Just under 800 jumps at the moment. On top of skydiving I did a lot of speedflying while I lived in California.



I also used to fly a lot of RC planes, but the bigger interest was high power rocketry. In this hobby you could literally burn hundreds or even thousands of dollars in mere seconds. I can't afford to fly my big rockets much anymore though lol





I too was in the USAF, but I was air transportation. I played around planes all day, but never flew.

I prefer airbus as a passenger, but flying a boeing is way more challenging in my opinion! Cockpit is too small in both types tho :p

Wow my eyes lit up when I say this thread! I’ve been surrounded by planes all my life(18yrs old). My dad works for untied, he’s below the wing. Senior maintenance Architect very techy stuff. That wasn’t my thing. He would get me tours of the hangars and such back when Continental was around. He also worked with the Boeing and the airforce to develop maintenance systems for there planes. I knew since I was a young lad I wanted to be a pilot. That dream has never died. Just recently I took my Discovery flight at United Flight Systems at DWH, and I was for sure hooked!! I’m starting ppl this May at UFS. And honestly I just want to fly. I tell my family I want to fly commercial but i don’t care how but I’m flying! After I get out of college I may go Army or Airforce. In the army I’d love to fly the UC-35. In the Airforce I’m a sucker for
B-1b lancer. And hopefully I could get lucky enough to be able to fly the U-2. Idk I still got 3 and half years of college left.

My fav civilian aircraft would be the 787-10, spf50 vision jet, and Cessna 180(outfitted with big tundra tires for off field landings)

As previously mentioned, I have many family members with aviation connections... some ‘forever’ connections... my uncle, the TWA pilot picked out his own gravesite, it has a clear ‘view’ of a local Omni tower... my father designed his own gravestone and had them include his plane and barn/hanger at his home with his own landing strip.
