Any cat people?

Caught this one on a game cam the other evening...



Unusual, around our place... we've got 3 Great Pyrenees that typically keep predators well back from the house.

Cats love short car rides too.... my crazy little buddy is a shoulder cat in the car.

Mine loves car rides... but god help you trying to get him in the carrier.

I really should of tried the leash thing when he was younger.

I'll share. Here's mine. She just turned 17 and will jump into and sleep in any empty box she can find.

I really want the babies to go to good homes. They've never lived outside, and I would like to keep it that way.

The momma will have to decide (after the babies are gone) whether she wants to be a house cat or live outside. We'll make sure she's fixed either way.

My wife and I had long-term cats. Her 'Bill' lived to 22 years. My 'Kashmir' lived to 15.

After that, we vowed to not have any more as it was too heart-breaking, but I brought home another after a year.
Weasel was an awesome kitty until he was taken out by a car.



Then, years later, my Wife found a stray kitty at work and 'Smokey' ended up at my Mother-in-law's house, after a round of checkups and such.
This picture is of the night she found him at my desk.
He was obviously happy to have a warm home to be in!!



The next year or 2 later another cat was found and 'Casey' found a home at Mom's
Soo thin!!!


Getting Fatter

After Smokey passed away ( clumping cat litter internal problems), Rose adopted Rocky

Rocky is a Maine Coon kitty



Due to Momma Rose's eventual passing, we are going to need to take these 2 kitties home.
Not looking forward to 'Cat-proofing' the house, but I'll be happy to have these 2 guys here as they are lonely with their Mom being away and such.

Our kitty Smokey (Momma Rose's cat) passed away due to clumping cat litter that built up in his belly.
When you use this product, they lick their paws, and the 'stuff' ends up in their guts.
Our Vet didn't catch it until it was too late.
Our kitty Smokey ended up becoming emaciated as they could not figure out what was happening early enough.
Do not use clumping cat litter ...

I am pretty sure Cats have people for pets not the other way around.

Agree. We use pine pellets from the feed store. They are sold for horse stalls. Very inexpensive and no smell.

Heck no. We have a fully outdoor cat, who we ONLY own to take care of potential rodents. Cats are evil!

We're managing as best we can. Changing the linens daily and vacuuming the carpet around their suite. ;) If we could kitty litter train the momma that would probably solve the problem. But she's stubborn and demands to be let outside.

She's spending more & more time outside away from her kittens. Which means she could get pregnant again. :( My wife wants to try taking her outside on a leash, but I think she's just gonna freak out.

That way she can still go outside, but she can't leave my sight and get cornered by a male cat. A vet told me we can't get her spayed until she is done nursing and her milk has dried up.

I'm glad to hear things are going as best as they can and your regime is definitely working!

I know this might sound mean but it might worth just locking mum inside and just not letting her out. It'll be rough with her persistence for a few days but will be worth it. And in terms of helping her litter train so you can keep her locked in, if you know where she goes to the toilet, get some of the soil and her poop or pee from the spot and put it in the litter tray so that she starts to link the two together. I know it's a gross job but she'll figure it out quick smart if the scent is there :) We had a feral turn into the most wonderful cat in the world that I miss so painfully and he coined on a litter box in hours as our other cat's excrement was in there :)
