Any cat people?

I've seen her go in the litterbox today, and the litter changes colors if there is an infection or anything. She gets Blue Buffalo kibble, but I guess it couldn't hurt getting her some Fancy Feast.

I really can't figure out what her problem is. I really hope she chills out -- I don't want to have to pay emergency hours fees for diagnostic testing just to find out she's being a brat. Fingers crossed she'll be better in the morning.
Oh no! I don’t think it’s an emergency.

I read a lot about how cats are desert animals and have a very low thirst drive. They get most of their water from their prey. I personally feed dry kibble in the morning, and canned wet food (with some extra water added). I’m a bit anal about my cat’s health lol. I brush his teeth every night.

Apparently dehydrated cats can lead to urinary tract infections? Please disregard everything I said. I’m not experienced in this, and my cat never had any infections. I base this off reading posts about people with these issues. I *think* vets tell people to get more water in their kitty when they have UTI?

Anyway, I don’t know why I’m rambling about UTIs lol. This is so unrelated and your cat is probably just meowing because it wants to meow haha.

Honestly, with the amount she's meowing something has to be wrong. So I won't disregard your UTI tangent. LOL. I have a constant-flow water thingy so the cats always have running water, and I have to refill it often enough that I know they're drinking. This is so weird. :( If she is still like this in the morning, I'll have to take her in.

Please let me know how she is tomorrow. I’m genuinely invested.

Ooh! I remember that thread! I love lynx points.

My cat’s name is Jack. He came with that name from the rescue.

Sometimes I want to call him “Elmo”.

@kittenbritches Hope your kitty is okay today. My cat Malkin is a poor health animal. He has feline herpes and has almost died on us twice. When he's sick he just curls up next to someone and doesn't move for three days. We give him lycine every day to keep him healthy. Our blind cat meows A LOT. We've taken him to the vet and he's fine. The thinking is he's using sound to help with his surrondings. Keep us updated on your kitty.

We have three. We lost one, 3 weeks ago after 17 years. She was a great cat. When we took her to the vet She had cancer through out her abdomen. We should have paid closer attention a few months earlier when she lost a bunch of weight.

Cats have a strange way of saying to their human, that there is something wrong. I would suggest a trip to the vet, if anything to renew her shots and a check up and peace of mind.

Here are the boys
Charle 7 years years old, rescue, short hair tuxedo

This guy is a piece of work. he runs the house.

Tux AKA/The big guy. 4 years old, Main Coon Rescue, tuxedo

Tux was feral, but has a gentle kindness to him. Very shy.

She was at the vet when we put down our kitty. She had been at the vet in a cage for some time and no one want here. So we took her home in our grief. We have no regrets

Missy, 1 year old, she has a lot of Bombay in her.

tempImageCi6BQL.png

She is getting more comfortable around us, very playful with the boys. Boy she is a drooler when petted.

@kittenbritches I would suggest after the vet, possibly getting some Feliway

Feliway is a great product to settle down cats, integrating cats, and help with behavioral issues.

Cute kitties!!

Ellie is still mowing incessantly this morning. I just did a full litter change so I can check for blood and/or either high alkalinity or acidity. I figure a day of monitoring her urine can help narrow down diagnostic testing when I take her to the vet tomorrow.

Thanks for the Feliway recommendation, too. Wally has always been an anxious cat, so maybe it could help him chill regardless.

Ellie has more or less been a model citizen since we adopted her last month.

Thank you, and your welcome :)

Has Ellie been spayed?

We are amazed how well the Feliway works.

Charlie was acting up a few months back. Going outside the box and even on us. I took Charlie to the vet. After a couple of tests. Charlie toxins In his kidneys were a bit high and Charlie was have behavioral issue with me working a lot more then I usual do, even though there is someone home all the time.

Cure: Antibiotics for a week, switched all of their food to a prescription diet (Hills K/d) and also added wet food. the Diet switch has brought down Charlies toxin levels, and a bunch of toys to keep Charlie entertained.

Cat seem to have UTI's and kidney issues over anything else.

Hi glad to see I'm not the only person who is owned by a cat

My little guy absolutely loves cats, so we adopted this girl from a rescue a few months ago.
