Hi,

Used to have an orbit marine led which I changed to a AI hydra 32. I had it position mid level on a 40g cube and kinda didn’t like the lightning. Placed it all the way down to see if it can adapt to the lightning. Is it a goner ?

How long you have that frag?
None enjoy movement.
About 3 weeks the torch was doing fine mid level but also had to move it down because it was residing. Don’t know the name of the other one. Had the pink one on the left before the light change and the torch on the right. Duncans are loving it.

Phosphates are high- may consider changing your carbon. If I remember correctly, 0.01 is ideal
I used to have a bag of chemipure elite but stop using them because my fs guy suggest that the light was penetrating too much since I was burning the corals a whole ago. Also using Gfo. Back to chemipure ?

It's not the phosphates.
Although 0.17 is what most will say is on the high side, it won't harm the torch.
Mine have been happy in 0.6+ phosphates for months.

The PAR will be different of course in those spots.
I’d just let him settle in the new spot, unless he’s been retracted for more than say a week.
For sure they are going to do that when moved.

It’s been that way for three weeks, is that correct?

Make sure the Nem and the torch stay apart, they look close in the pic.

Phos of 0.01 is not recommended... Too easy to bottom out completely.
Carbon does not remove phosphates (or nitrates, or ammonia...)

A lot of sources I’ve seen recommend no higher than 0.05ppm; and you’re right, I meant GFO* such as Chemi-pure, silly me
Not sure how to quantify "a lot", but I am sure that bad info is frequently repeated...
Also, different corals need different things. For LPS, phos as high as 0.5-1.0 isn't unheard of in healthy thriving tanks.

3 weeks since a bought it. About a week since I brought it down. Thanks for the heads up about the torch and the nem. Will do.
