Just asking if anyone's got any ideas for a super simple skimmer for a 5g? I have some ideas but would like to hear some suggestions.

A soda bottle and an air stone/air pump can make one.

I don't use one on my 5g. I just do a 2-3g water change every 1-2 weeks and run a little floss to help keep the water clear of debris. Seems to keep the simple SPS happy.

If you insist making it eventhough i dont think you need one. Just do a small wc like i said. Go to Homedepot and get this to make the body of your skimmer. Theyre in the light ailse.

Thanks for the ideas guys , main point of making it is to do some of the heavy lifting when I'm away from the tank , can't trust other people to mix saltwater : P sooo it's easier to tell them to turn something on and watch a cup.

Yea but you’d or they’d have to adjust the skimmer daily if the skimmer is not ina sump where wateer level is constant.

That is true didn't think of that still might build a larger one for the big tank when it's gonna go up though

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
