Found this in the sump, any idea on what it could be?

While it doesn't look like a typical sponge, I'm still going with sponge.

If it is, let it be; it is beneficial to have.
 
Looks like some kind of sponge or tunicate colony. Any idea of what it might have come from?
 
Not a clue. I added a few Ricordia, Rhodactis and a Duncan about 6 months ago. I dipped all of them prior to adding them to the tank but maybe something survived on the bases and made its way into the sump.
