Any idea what's on my flame hawk?

These lesions just showed up today, no new fish or corals added recently. He was eating fine yesterday.

I've got a carpet nem, long tentacle and bubble tip, and am worried he got stung by one of them, but not sure. He looks "okay" but haven't gotten to feeding him yet. I just want to make sure it's not some other disease/infection that I need to QT all my fish for.

While stings are not ruled out, can be sand particles or skin irritation. Are other fish all clear of skin issues?

Yeah no fish have anything else. It doesn't look like sand when you look really close, it almost looks like flaked scales

Looking on a larger screen, these appear to be flukes. Any sudden darting, scratching, loss of color or elevated breathing? Treatment will be PraziPro applied at 85% of recommended and allow it to work for 8 days, change water and apply one more application lasting 8 days and do add an air stone as Prazi lowers both oxygen and appetite which may be the case or part of it

Honestly no... The only big behavior change is he's staying on the opposite side of the tank from my long tentacle anemone.

I was thinking flukes too, but it's odd as hell cause the last fish I added was Thanksgiving, and the aquarium has just been cruising with everything being healthy. He's been in the aquarium for at least 6 months now. I don't know much about flukes though, so I'll read more into it.

I've heard praise pro is "reef safe" but what are your experiences with it? I got a lot of healthy corals I don't want to kill lol

Ruby Rally is indeed safe but best with brooklynella, light bacterial, open sores and early stage velvet

Are these lesions on both sides of the fish? If just one side, I'd be inclined to say this is an anemone sting. Flukes on this species are pretty common though. The symptoms are different; cloudy fins and scales, scratching and breathing faster than normal. These brighter white areas are not fluke symptoms that I've ever seen.

They're only on one side of him

That rules out that they are caused by flukes - flukes would be spread across the fish randomly.

However, the fish *could* also have flukes, just watch for the symptoms I mentioned.
