I have a Rigid 3600W generator for emergencies. Would there be any issues hooking the apex to the generator??

I personally would not do it. I would just run the essentials(on the tank) and use the rest of the power to run things like the fridge etc.

Interesting, what might not work if you don't power the Apex?

Example: I was planning on my return pump and heater to be on Apex outlets. If the power goes out, would I have to unplug them and plug into a power cord from generator? Or should the code for the outlet be defualted to "ON" and just plug the EB into a cord from the generator?

I read somewhere that you should not because it is not conditioned (or stable) power.

The therort is that power come from a generator is subject to surges, but if you have the Apex and any delicate electronics plugged into a UPS, not necessarily a battery backup but a surge protector/power conditioner I would think it's OK.

I have the exact same [awesome] generator and have ran my Apex Jr. off of it twice with no issues. However I strictly use the Apex as a light timer and temperature monitor.

I work at a generator manufacturer, and you should look at the power quality of the portable generator before hooking up potentially sensitive and expensive electronics to it.

I have a Honda and run half my house on it without a second thought. Computers, TV's, refrigerator, Wii, X Box and the whole fish tank.
