I keep reading about auto feeders and the convenience especially for multiple feedings per day and am curious if anyone has sustained fish long term feeding only dried foods. I'm particularly interested in tangs because I have 10, some that have been with me for as long 8+ years. I have always fed frozen as a staple and used dried more as treats rather than meals. Images of the fish for bonus points.
I believe proper feeding is critical to curbing aggression because the fish don't go into survival mode feeling they need to fight to get enough food.

My gang.

Among my 75 fish, I have 18 tangs in 2 separate systems… many are well over 10 + years in my care. I usually feed them twice a day, once with flakes and once with pellets. Once a week they get frozen mysis.
They have never complained to me about it!

I’m going on two years with my oldest tangs, 14 total. All full bodied with no sighs of health issues. Flake only with the occasional nori sheet as a snack. .

That’s a really nice tang gang. I don’t think your copperband would be too happy with a dry, pellet diet. lol

I have an auto feeder that releases TDO chromaboost for the anthias twice a day, but I still feed frozen, alternating between PE Mysis, LRS, and Rods. I also add nori daily. My fish are happy. 🙂

This is pretty close to what I'm currently feeding only I feed formula 1 and 2 pellets and dk1 pellets along with the 3 frozen brands and a flake I can't remember at the moment. I'm thinking of adding an auto feeder to dispence between frozen feedings. My female CBB loves the flake but not the pellets. The male won't touch either so I can't cut out frozen totally. I'm looking to supplement the frozen with more dried food so I can feed them more food over all.
