Any potential down side to this?

So I am thinking about getting a 72x30x15 acrylic tank or a 96x30x15 tank. I am just wondering how the height of the tank might look. I am wondering if this may be too shallow as one of the fish I would like to have is a Naso Tang(had one in the past before I got rid of my old tank) . I aesthetics will obviously be opinion only and I would like to hear them as well as if there are any thoughts to keeping larger fish in such a shallow tank.

Length is a huge bonus for you with the 96". The height really isn't going to be a factor, they swim back and forth, not so much up and down.

Thanks for the input. I was really hoping this would be the case but didnt want to shell out the cash for a custom tank if the larger critters wouldnt be happy in 15 inch tall tank. Probably gonna go bare bottom but if not im going to do only an inch of sand.

No problem for the fish. However, I own a tank that's 16 inches in height. I am about to replace it for something about 4 inches taller. The shallow reef is fun until you need to add some serious flow.

Can you explain more about the flow issue?

In my experience, since I have a 1.5" sandbed, it get's blown around like crazy. Should have mentioned that in my previous post.

Are ypu using course sand or fine sand?
