Anybody watch EliteXC last night?

Politics my friend, it's all politics. Next thing you hear will be a merger between EliteXC and on of the other major players....Watch and see!!!

Just what I want, a major company buying a failure. Elite XC is the minor league of MMA. "Hey uh....we're losing a lot of money. Want to buy us?" I'd sure love to see some of those fighters in the UFC though....never cared to watch an Affliction event.

Kimbo is a good street brawler, but he is not a good MMA fighter. Compare the conditioning of a street fighter (or some drunk from a bar) to that of even an AVERAGE MMA fighter, no contest. Kimbo has fought nothing but chumps since entering the MMA arena. Tank? Give me a break. He is past his prime by nearly a decade. Ken Shamrock? Same. Brain damage is all that fight would have got him, and a paycheck.

I really wanted Kimbo to lose but wanted to see him beat more.....profusely. One person I know argued that Kimbo got caught and that will never happen again. Right. Put him in the ring with Andrei, Randy, Fedor, etc and see what happens. Dude is toast.

Not sure why everyone hates to watch women fight, that's awesome! So much better than a hair pulling contest. Carano just kicked the hell out of her opponent.

Thats crazy to think this fight was rigged- Quit watching the fight in slo-mo that makes things look less than they were. Seth is a Power Puncher he has knocked out bigger men than Kimbo (Bob Sapp) with the same right jab.

It's been tough for real fans of MMA to take Kimbo being touted as the face/future of the sport despite limited skills and credentials, and I'm sure most of us are glad that's over. But I do like Slice story, he seems like a good man and I wish him the best. Hope he got as much cash out of all this as possible.

He just never should've been touted as what he was, it was a scam pulled on people that don't know MMA (alot of whom will now likely never really become fans...does this make business sense?) and an insult to people who do know MMA.

Definitely, totally agree with that. Although he wouldn't last long even with an average boxer that knew how to cover up. Kimbo would tire out way too quick and down he would go. Unless he dripped some of his beard shine juice on the mat and the other dude slipped on it and broke his neck..:xd:

I just read an interesting article over at Sherdog. Allegedly elite xc agreed to pay Seth Petruzelli 6 figures for the fight but Petruzelli wasn't allowed to take the fight to the ground. He was paid extra to keep the fight standing.

I need to watch the replay again. I was almost sure that he lost his balance at the start of the exchange, almost like he tripped over his own feet kind of thing. There's no doubt the final punches connected though...BLOOD DON'T LIE! The color "red" looked good on him.

I am seconds away from shaving the hair off the right side of my chest and just leaving a soul patch on the left side...:snicker: NOT!!!!!!

I watched 4 times and everytime it looks like Slice slipped which gave an opening to be punched about the head, neck and chest.....He has stepped into an arena that does not fit his brawling fighting style. Not to mention most of these guys that are in MMA have a real killing instinct, that is why you don't see more guys off the streets joining. They fight in tough man contests.

So, EliteXC is bankrupt and done. I guess we shouldn't of expected too much from such a low budget company. Now Kimbo's really out of a job...uh oh...I think I hear Dana White making a collect call to Kimbo right now...

Tell me it wouldn't be fun to watch some low level MMA fighter mop the octagon up with him?? As long as it's one of Dana's free UFC events..I'm not paying to watch Kimbo Beard Juice fight, that's for sure!!
