Anyone still using the black box leds?

Anyone out there had experience with the DSunY/Pop Bloom brand.

I was attracted to them because the power supplies are not mounted in the fixture, they come with a controller and they are fanless.

I won't be growing Acros. Softies, LPS, palys and maybe some monti's.

I was wondering if anyone has taken a chance on them?

I know someone who used the smaller ones as a full spectrum sump light, had all the ramping / storm etc features - not as good coverage as lets say a Viparspectra (which I have) but was still very useable.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Any impressions on build quality?

I bought a MArs Aqua a year or two ago. I only used it for temp QT tanks. So it had a years worth of work when I added it and two new ones to my 180. A few months later and the first one is at 100% on both channels to keep up with the newer two run both at 50%. If the two new ones drop in PAR like the older I will have to find another brand.

Perfectly fine, is it a little rough around the edges? yes - Does it look like a Radion? No - will it grow coral? Yep :D

Hello, you keep the same settings all time? I petsonnaly have two black box 165w over my 560l tank and I do the full day cycle, the light is simulating a day, the corals seems to like

I have the reef radiance 165p+’s....

been running them for over 4 years...

they work-however, since the app to control them is no longer available, it kinda takes away from their usefulness

The black boxes are still inferior to the high end ones in a lot of ways.

i disagree. where do you think thoe leds are being made?,, where do you think these brands are having their products made? here is the answer CHINA, or some other asian country. fact is you are paying more for a name brand and maybe some features but the fact of the matter is name brande are a complete waste of cash when an inexpensive one will do the same job.
