I’m trying to get my ATO to cut off for 5 extra minutes after feed a is done. Can someone tell me why it doesn’t even cut off?

Fallback OFF
Set OFF
Defer 005:00 Then ON
If FeedA 000 Then OFF
If Power Apex Off 005 Then ON

If you turn your return pumps down or off during feeding then the water level in the sump will be high and the ato won't come on anyways, No need to tell it to stay off. The sensors should be in the return section of the sump.
Here is my ato code using apex ato
Fallback OFF
Set OFF

If Sump_L OPEN Then ON (low optical sensor)

If Sump_H CLOSED Then OFF (high optical sensor)

If Res_Lo OPEN Then OFF (3rd optical sensor in ato resivior optional)

Defer 000:30 Then ON (low sensor has to be dry for 30 seconds to turn on)

Defer 000:15 Then OFF (low sensor has to be wet 15 seconds to turn off)

When On > 005:00 Then OFF ( this should never happen, it only takes about 1:30-2:00 minutes for mine to top off)

Min Time 030:00 Then OFF (waits 30 minutes before it will try to top off again)

You set up your Feed A in the Misc setup page (gears then wrench icon) on Fusion. Below is mine. This has Feed A going for 5 minutes, if my Feed A was 000 then it would shut off for 5 minutes, if I did Feed A 005 then it would shutoff for 10 minutes (5 minutes below plus the 5 minutes in my feedA statement). If I understand what you are looking for, I would start with Fallback On, Set ON, and then Feed A 005 then Off. This assumes you are not using a ATO system and not sensors controlled by Apex. I have used this w/ my Tunze ATO.

My problem is that it screams until my pump comes back on. Then I would like it off for 5 min after the pump comes on to let the sump even out

Is the Apex making the noise or is it a third party ATO making the noise?

My Tunze ATO does this and it drives me nuts. Wondering if I should set the delay to 10 min for it to turn back on. Something like this.

Fallback ON
Set ON
If FeedA 010 Then OFF

I use Tunze also, I would just make sure it comes back on XX minutes after your return pump comes back on which should eliminate the Tunze scream. Note the tunze will make a short chime when it is powered back up.

I had a similar issue (I have apex and Tunze) and the following seems to address your issue. This is what I have programmed as my ATO's configuration in Apex:

1. Fallback OFF
2. Set ON
3. If Output RETURN--5 = OFF Then OFF
4. Defer 005:00 Then ON

Following a feeding the return pump and powerhead will turn on and 5 minutes after they do then the ATO boots back up.
