My display broke on my apex.
I purchased an Amazon fire to use as a new display.

The wireless connction is not working now and I'm not sure how to connect the fire to the apex and get it set up

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

You can't physically connect the apex to the fire tablet. If the wireless is not working, fix that first..We might be able to help there too if you provide the problem description

The fire tablets work as a pseudo display by allowing you to run the Fusion website, not a "direct" connection the the Apex per say. I'm not sure how you would reset the network settings in the actual Apex unit without a head unit.

Thanks for the replies.
That's what I was afraid of.

I have been running the Apex off of the app on my phone but now it won't connect. It starts off orange and then goes to red and says the request time out.

Do you happen to know the IP address of the apex? Normally it is 192.168.1.50..If fusion does not work you can use the local IP address to log into the apex web server...And your tablet, can it go online?

Is the led on the apex base solid green? This is the apex classic I assume?

If so, unplug the apex base power. Let it sit for a minute or so and plug it back...Hopefully it will recover ...There is a tool to browse for the apexes on your network. If it accepts any IP addresses from the router, you will find it...

Thanks for following up. Not yet. My Ethernet cord was too short to connect to the unit so I am getting a new card to try to connect without the wireless. I will update here when I do

Ok. Still no go. I have disconnected and connected everything. I get no response from my app.

Light on the Apex (apex lite BTW) is solid green.
The lights on the Ethernet cable connection are green And orange
I have typed in the IP address on my computer and it goes nowhere.

I have disconnected the wireless and connected straight into my router but now I don't know how to connect to the unit without my apex display?

Sorry to be so slow about this.

Did you power cycle the wireless device? That is very important. Disconnect and reconnecting is not suggested...

When you connected the apex directly to the router with the apex power on, there might be an issue of it s own. Power down the apex and hook up the wire to the router then power up the apex...Did you change the DHCP settings of the apex? By default DHCP is on

What do you mean by power cycle?

I will power down the apex and then reconnect to the router and then power back up....

Ok. Done.

I did not change the DHCP...in fact, I wouldn't know how if I wanted too. Lol
