I did not set this up, but I have learned to understand it. Well, except the last line. It is my understanding that defer means to wait an additional 2 minutes before turning on. Why is this here? Does this mean it will come on 12 minutes after feedA ends, rather than the 10 I have specified?

Thanks.

If Output ReturnPump_2 Watts < 20 Then OFF
If Output ReturnPump_2 = OFF Then OFF
If SmpHi CLOSED Then OFF
If Flr_Lk CLOSED Then OFF
If FeedC 005 Then OFF
If FeedA 010 Then OFF
Defer 002:00 Then ON

Assuming this may be for the skimmer?

People often turn off, and leave the skimmer off after feeding for 30min, as the introduced food makes the skimmer "turbo charged", working harder, possibly over flowing, etc.

Short answer: defer delays turning something back on.

Sorry, yes, the skimmer. But I do have a 10 minute delay (before turning on) after the feed mode ends. Is the defer just overkill at this point?

That I am unsure of, but what's 2 extra minutes going to do? Nada IMO.

You can certainly take it out and see what it does, but I wouldn't be worried about 2 more minutes personally.

So yeah twelve minutes. If you only want ten then I would change the feeda to 008. That gives you 10 total with the defer of 2. I would not get rid of the defer as that is usually used (in this instance with the sensors) to eliminate nuisance on/off/on/off cycles when a sensor changes from from open to closed and vice versa. Think ripples of water causing the sensor to bounce up and down. The defer here makes it so that the sensor must be in its changed state for 2 minutes solid before triggering the action. But who knows, I could be wrong I haven’t slept in a while

Oh,I get it. 8, 10, 12 minutes doesn’t much matter, but I knew there had to be a reason defer was there separate from the feed mode delays. Thanks!
