Yesterday afternoon we experienced a power outage. I have never had connection issues for the last two years, up until now. Apex wouldn’t reconnect. Tried to WiFi reset as that has always worked. No go. Powered off the apex and it would reboot and reconnect. The connection would only last about an hour and then disconnect. During this time it lost all my modules. Had to re add and reprogram everything. Took about an hour. Well it disconnected over night. Reboot the apex this morning and all the modules I reconfigured last night are lost. In a panic before work I was able to get the return pumps back online but no dosing or anything else.
Any ideas of what’s going on? The apex is not hard wired. I can deal with the disconnects but the losing modules is killing me!! Please advise.

A couple of things come to mind. First, and most likely, the issue is not with the head unit, but with the EB832. That's the unit that powers everything up and takes the first hit during a power outage or a surge.
Second, and also quite likely, the head unit is loosing it's mind after an extended power outage.
If a full factory reset doesn't help, try isolating modules next. Perhaps, run just the head unit and the EB832 for a day. Or even better, just the head unit on a separate 12v power supply. If the unit still disconnects, you know it's the head unit. If it stays connected, then it's one of your modules, which very well may be the EB832.

Either way, I may be able to help repair those if that's what ends up being needed and you are willing to ship.

Surprisingly I rebooted the head unit at 6 this morning after I rebooted the router. It has stayed connected so far today. We will see how long it last. When I manually turn on individual pumps via fusion they respond appropriately with the new address it applied. Even ran a trident test manually from fusion while at work.

Ran the module task to move over my previous programming. Man, I wish I had know about that last night when I programmed each outlet individually! That made the reprogramming a breeze. Everything seems to be running as it should. Hasn’t disconnected since I restarted everything at 6 this morning. I’m guessing the restarting the router while the apex was powered up is what did the trick. We shall see how the day progresses.

Well as an update. Had the apex hardwired for the last week. No issues, no disconnects until early this morning. Of course on the day my electrician is running the Ethernet cable through the walls to the tank. So frustrated with this apex that’s supposed to be top of the line!! Any advice from this point would be greatly appreciated.

Running it hardwired with ethernet would be the best option, which it sounds like you're moving towards. I'm not sure what Neptune suggests, but my suggestion would be to only run ethernet only, and leave the WIFI on the unit disabled. With the disconnects, is that to Fusion? I'd be curious to know if you could connect directly to the unit via the local network to bypass fusion to see if it is still up and running. https://forum.neptunesystems.com/showthread.php?33180-Apex-Local

I have been hardwired. It should be running straight from that network and not WiFi. It ran perfectly for a week. Now it won’t go more than an hour or so before it disconnects from fusion.

Are you able to connect to the local interface on the Apex at all when it is in the disconnected state?

wait, what module task exactly to bring over previous settings ? thanks

Yup that’s it’s. I’m pretty proficient at it now as I have had to use that task about 50 times over the last week. Neptune finally emailed me back today and suggested I swap out the SD card. I’m about out of options because I cannot get fusion to stay connected for more than a few minutes at a time. The suck part is that I am going to have to reprogram everything from scratch and he isn’t sure that is going to fix the problem. I doubt it will.

Is there a setting that I need to change within fusion for wanting it to use the hardwired connection versus WiFi? Should I disable WiFi? Because it seems in my router that even though it’s hardwired it is still using WiFi instead?

I am working with Neptune to remedy the issue but waiting on a new sd card.
If I add a display module can I configure the apex to run like it does if connected to fusion? For example will my dos continue to dose on schedule?
As of now whenever I lose connection my dose turns off.

That sounds like a deeper issue than just a loss of network. From my understanding, everything should run just fine when your internet goes down. Fusion is only really there to provide remote access to your Apex. From what you're describing, it sounds like your Apex is completely crashing. It's why I kept asking if you could login to the Apex using the local address instead of through Apex when it was disconnected. I had my unit go into a similar state once when I added a couple new modules, and then had a power outage. I couldn't get the unit to fully boot up and connect to Fusion until I disconnected the cable going to the new modules I had added.

Sounds like support is on it at least, and if they are doing what I think they are doing, it sounds like they are completely replacing all of the code / software on the unit. Should be the equivalent to a factory reset, but is also resetting all of the software inside as well. Functionally, it sounds like it would the same as replacing the hard drive on a computer with a new one.

My apologies. I thought I responded to your question about the local access. When fusion is disconnected I cannot access via the local either.
Once fusion goes down then my DOS no longer doses on schedule and the heaters stop functioning as well.
Should I have my heaters fallback set to on or off? Currently set to fallback off. Unsure of why the dose isn’t continuing when fusion is down.
