My apologies if this is a dumb question...

I have a DDR Dual Reservoir system for my alk and calcium additives. Many weeks ago, the calcium got low enough that the sensor triggered an alarm for me to refill. I refilled the container and ran the program to indicate that I refilled it. However, I continue to receive messages that the fluid is low.

I have tried to clean off the sensor, but that didn't work. I also disconnected the DDR from the system, but the error messages continue. Is there a way to clear/reset the DDR so stop the repeated messages? Do the sensors on the DDRs fail in this manner?

I'd like to get it working again. Any help/comments would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

If the sensor is covered with liquid, it should report CLOSED. If it still shows OPEN, then the sensor is faulty. If you don't currently have the sensor tiles on your dashboard, click the padlock icon to unlock your dashboard, then scroll through the list of unused tiles to find your DDR sensors, and drag them down onto your dashboard so you can see what they're reporting.

Thanks!

After reading your message, I looked for the DDR tile in the list of unused tiles. It wasn’t there. I pulled out the plug and swapped it with another one. Then, went back and found the DDR tile.

Here is a screen shot error messages and another of the sensors.

I changed the Alert Configuration as follows:

I deleted the line for "ALK8_1." That should stop the error messages, correct?

Hi,

Removing the reference to ALK8_1 will stop the alarm. Although obviously not ideal.
These optical sensors do go bad, it is a well-known issue, especially with older DDRs. (I haven't looked at a newer one.)
As you've probably noticed, just disconnecting the DDR cord from the DOS removes the DDR graphic from the dashboard.
There is no Neptune-approved method to replace the OS yourself; they advise packing the DDR up and sending it back for repair.
