Good Afternoon,
I purchased an older apex classic. i am trying to set it up in the apex fusion. i am connected to the internet via a hardline, and i cant find it in the app. i logged in on my PC and its asking for a token, which i assume you need to the screen for to find, which i dont have. Is there a way to connect my apex to the fusion or PC without that token?

I may be mistaken but you might have to update the firmware via usb (if it’s an older firmware version) in order to get a token and gain compatibility with fusion?

Do I need the display screen to get the token? Or can it be done without the screen?

I’m not sure, I just have an old support email from maybe 5 years ago that I was referencing:

If you’re using an older Apex Classic, unfortunately it does not support Apex Fusion directly like the newer Apex models (2016 and later) do. The Apex Classic was made before Fusion was launched, so it doesn’t use a token or QR code the way newer models do.

Here’s what you can do:

1. Access Apex Classic through your local network:
   • Open a browser on a PC connected to the same network.
   • Type in the IP address of the Apex Classic (you can usually find this in your router’s connected devices list or through the Apex Display Module under “Net Setup”).
   • This will take you to the Apex’s local web dashboard.
2. Register for Apex Fusion (optional):
   • If your Classic firmware is recent enough (4.30 or higher), it can connect to Fusion through a manual linking process.
   • On your Apex’s local web dashboard, go to Configuration > Network Setup, and ensure it’s connected to the internet.
   • Then go to Configuration > Apex Fusion Setup and follow the instructions to link it—this is where you’d normally get a token.
3. No token showing?
   • If there’s no token available, your firmware may be too old.
   • In that case, you’d need to update the Apex Classic firmware to the latest version via USB and use the APEXloader tool (Windows only).
