Ok. So my when my apex base failed I thought it was my Tridents, NP and regular. I took 3 apex tridents apart and made note of everything except the connection from the front panel to the board bellow the dosing pumps . Can someone show me a pic of where the cable plugs into. There are 2, 6 pin confections, and I dont know which way to plug it in, cable outwards of the board or inwards.
Any help will be appreciated

I now have 3 tridents unassembled 😂😩 .

The Cable You’re Referring To

This is the ribbon cable that connects the front button/display assembly to the internal control board. It's a 6-pin flat ribbon that plugs into a header on the PCB under the pump module.

Correct Plug Orientation (Based on Disassembly Guides & User Repairs):

  • Cable plugs into the header with the cable running TOWARD the edge of the board, not toward the center.
  • When looking at the board from the front (display facing you), the cable should run toward the front panel, not inward toward the dosing pumps or rear ports.
  • Visual Orientation Tips:

    • The white connector will often face up with the latch side visible.
    • If the PCB has a silkscreen outline of the connector, the correct orientation often matches the “keyed” side (usually a notch or thickened area on one side of the connector).
    • Since the Trident isn't publicly documented internally by Neptune, and you've already voided warranty by opening it, the safest move is to reference a teardown video or community repair guide. Here’s how to find one:
      • Search YouTube for: Neptune Trident teardown or Trident dosing pump repair
      • Look for a video or post that shows the reassembly process—some Redditors and Reef2Reef members have posted high-res teardown images.
      • If you plug the cable in backwards:
        • It likely won’t fry anything, but the display/buttons may not function.
        • Try both orientations carefully if you're confident and can power on briefly to test (use low-risk power-up first, not full operational test).
