apex variable speed cable question

so i may be moving my kessil 360we to my new fowler tank because I will de replacing them with red sea 160 lights, my fowler is about 35-40 feet from my apex vs ports so. i already have run an apex pm1 module to the fowler tank

1. do they make really long vs cables
or
2. will I need the purchase the VDM LED & Pumps Control Module?

so that i can still have apex control of my fowler tank lights, the red sea lights as some may know are app-controlled. side note-- with most everything starting to go app-controlled i wonder if there is a need for an apex is the far future.

I spliced cat5 cable into the kessil control cable to run it about 25 feet. Imagine that would work for 40 also.

Really? how? i have seen videos on making longer aquabus cables like that but not varible speed cables

Just like you’d splice anything ..... make sure to connect up the same wires. Not pretty but it works.
