API ph down to lower kH?

So I started using reef crystals and noticed the kH is stupid high with new batches of salt water. Mixing around 10.3 dkH. So my question is, while I'm mixing the new salt water, could I just add PH Down to lower the kH? I dont care that the pH will return to normal, I'm more concerned about getting the overall kH down after the water is done gassing off the CO2. Since pH down is essentially just an acid anyway and acid lowers kH.

Since it is sulfuric acid, it will work, but you may find cheaper products since you may need a reasonably large amount to lower alk compared tot he smaller amount needed to lower pH. I assume it is pure enough for reef use, but do not know for sure.
