has anyone used this with LED lighting? If so, how do you feel about them? The description says, "the meter is excellent for all light sources, except LEDs, where post-measurement correction factors need to be applied to achieve accurate readings" but brs says the differences between the 210 and the 510 are minimal. is it worth the $250 price difference to get the 510?

Don't know much about yours. There is also a correction factor built in for underwater use on the MQ 510, as it was made for Aquariums. Don't know about the 210 needing LED correction. Just received mine about a week ago so not using it yet. Just turning the lights on one at a time, and letting the fish get used to them. Also bought the wand, and also a communication cable for it to allow me to download the info for an excel spread sheet. The 510 logs manual readings, and also logs samples every 30 seconds, and then records the average that every 30 minutes and store that. Then it will continue that until it records an entire 24 hour period. Perfect for Aquarists. About $ 1000 Canadian

The MQ210 is totally fine for LEDs. It uses the older 100 series sensor, but that sensor is still pretty spot on. I don’t know why BRS has that weird disclaimer on it about LEDs. The 510 sensor has better accuracy on sub 450nm readings, but we’re talking a tiny PAR variance vs the 510 (like single digits or teens). Over the entire spectrum, it evens out.

Here’s a link to a video that compares the 210 to the LiCor.

P.S. I own both 210 and 510 and I don’t see a significant difference.

thanks for the info. I saw they said that the difference between the 210 and 510 is minimal

Just an fyi..Oddly works better in practice than expected..
Not part. good for horticulture if running heavy 660nm.
Of course doesn't apply here in general.
