Hi,

Struggling to get much info on Aquaforest AF Bio Sand (0.5 - 1.5mm) product

I love the look of it and prefer it over Special Grade, but still bit concerned that it might be too fine?
From the 1 discussion & 1 video I could find, it looks to hold pretty good though...

I will be using it in a 180g display, with aims for a mixed reef eventually (new setup).

Really keen to hear from some who's using it.

Cheers!

I think with that size sand you will be ok. If you were running a high flow SPS tank, I might look at a slightly larger grade of sand.

@loops123 If you are going to run a SPS flow you will be better off with the bigger grain size. The powder sand is pretty but it blows around easily in a high flow tank.
Hi @loops123

We really appreciate that you are interested in our products. We have also bigger granulation of this product - 1-2mm
Have a good day!

Unfortunately in South Africa they don't seem to be available, I've contacted multiple stores without luck. If you can advise on a supplier that would be great!

Thanks! Exactly what I'm worried about. Not gonna go full SPS, mixed and easing into SPS. But even then, changing sand is a major pain

I've not used AF but i have used figi pink which is listed as the same grain size. I ended up removing it and replacing it with special grade because it blew around to easily.

And it becomes VERY frustrating after a while when anything you would keep on sand becomes buried under it by morning.

Hi! Please contact with our distributor in your country, I'm sure that he will help you with it. You can find him here: https://aquaforest.eu/en/where-to-buy/
