You think blades give a natural sunlight look? Ok.

Same thing can be done with t5/LED combo

Maybe. You did not even ask which blades I I was talking about before claiming something was just as good or better. lol

I spent a great deal of time comparing spectra from many types of lights to get what I wanted for my reef tank.

IMO, the blue look is neither natural nor appealing to me for the creatures I want to focus on.

This is the thread that led me to the combination of 3 AI blades freshwater and 1 AI blade coral glow. Now that I see them I am happy with them, and expect to dial down the blue via the app.

no need to get defensive. I figured since we were in a “reefing” forum, that you were referring to either the grow or glow.
To each their own- if it makes you happy, then by all means i’m not knocking it. Ive seen side by sides in person with a comparison between a blade and a quanta. Quanta produced better PAR as well as color pop in coral (though I digress).

Not a heavy blue fan myself but I'm a scuba diver. Fiji, December 2024.

Green chromis are among the fish that look better (at least to me) in white light. Blue damsels of various sorts too. :)

I have often wondered why anyone thought black backgrounds were a good idea on tanks

Lol for a minute there I thought maybe I posted a video of my display instead of the ocean. As to why? I don't know honestly. I do have a black back and side panel but it is because it buts up to a wall and no other available colors. I've corals and rocks that covers most of it so there is that.

I may have missed the question though. Sorry.

Agreed, they do.

I have a lot of videos of Chromis during that dive week as I was trying to understand more how they behave in the wild. In fact one of the items on my bucket list is to capture video of every fish I own on a scuba dive. We'll see how that goes...

1 returned because it arrived with 1 of few led colors not working. And the other one just died after 6 months of use. Both replaced under warranty
Ok, thanks. :)

Yeah, my first Grow was like that. All the LEDs seemed to work, but you could see an obvious purple color under the left side. My LFS swapped it out and my second Grow has been fine.
