Aquanano 40 QT Tank?

Hello,

I was thinking of getting an Aquanano 40 To turn into a Qt Tank? I would only be keeping 2/3 Fish at a time for quarantine. Is this a good Tank to go for?

Sure, it would work for quarantining small fish, but in my opinion that is overkill and an expensive option for a quarantine tank.

I just use a really cheap 10 gallon or 20 gallon LONG, with a hang on power filter. You don’t need a light at all. Total of $35- $60.
I like the dimensions of those better, too. They are longer than the AquaNano.

My QT takes some abuse, so you won’t have to worry about ruining an expensive tank either.

I was just looking at the Aqua One HFX Hang On Filter, Do you Know much about these ones? Are they reliable?

I use them only for water flow not for biological filtering, so really any rated for your tank size would work. You can also just use a simple sponge filter like this. You will also need to buy an air pump to run it as well as airline tubing.

I think this “Stickie” will help you out on the quarantining process better than I can.
