Hello!

I'm curious to know if people here keep a journal or a log of their reef tank.
Do you keep notes and measurements somewhere organized? If so, where do you write down your notes and what information do you keep?
I'm asking, because I plan to design a nice-looking weekly digital/printable journal where I can write down water measurements and log all the changes I do to my tank etc.
Would you find such a journal useful? What information would you write down?

Thanks!

#WelcometoR2R! There are some apps such as Aquarimate that may be similar.

I really like the Aquarimate app. Before subscribing to this one I also used AquaticLog which was free. Both are great for tracking parameters and livestock and to keep notes and reminders for your tank.
As for a journal, I occasionally update my build thread here on Reef2Reef.

I have used aquarimate and Reef Trace in the past. I bought a Hanna Master test kit and it logs all my readings electronically. I also have a small wall calendar which I write my readings on for tracking.

I write stuff down in a paper journal when I do maintenance like water changes, clean skimmer, siphon sandbed, and test results. I write down when I add coral and other life. Sometimes I write down when I frag or move corals around. I write down when I replace bulbs and RO/DI components. Sometimes I write down when things look off or mishaps like low salinity.

I just made a simple parameters table in Word and log manually on printed page.
When page is full, I take a picture and save, then start a new page.
*tried an app before but found I didn't like logging stuff into my phone while I was testing,,, was just too much hassle for me
