Would a 4' light fixture be enough for a 125 gal 8 foot long Fowler tank?

You will get both answers, but with fowlr, yes it should be. If you center it, you will have the light drop off the last two feet on either side pretty rapidly though.

it would create a bright area in the center, with a dark area on each side. It’s not going to hurt the fish, but it may look a little strange.
