Aquarium stand question

Got a rimless aquarium and there was some overhang. Added some plywood to the stand but now it’s a close fit. Is this alright or should I just go for a new stand? Pictures below

Hard to tell if the top of your stand is recessed or flat....but if you could just add a molding strip around the base of your aquarium to hide the bottom, then paint to match stand....you should be good.
