New one took a lot of the complaints of the first/old one and they built that into the new one. There is a good review on YouTube about the upgrades.

I have the DX18 and the ballast blew, 2 months in. AL told me I’m the first to have a blown ballast. Go figure

The difference you're seeing is that the "NEW" are for the newer LED lights - Hydra 32/64, etc.

The "SALE" fixture is for the older LED lights - Hydra 26/52.

At least looking through them, that is the only difference I saw.

They announced the DX18 series mid last year, it is dimmable. The older model was not. BRS has both on their website.

Here is a non-dimmable 36" version on sale: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/36-hybrid-t5ho-4x39w-fixture-with-led-mounting-system-aquatic-life.html

Here is the dimmable DX18 36", not on sale: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/36-dx18-hybrid-dimmable-t5-ho-light-fixture-aquatic-life.html

It clearly says dimmable. Maybe you are seeing something different.
