Hi ,

Having the following long thread like algae growing all over some of my rocks .Some are green while others are brown.
They come off by brushing them .
Do you think these are byropsis ? If so , I might have to treat the tank with flucconazole but want to be sure .

Yep, it's bryopsis. The few ferns on the rock and the tube like structure of the stems is a dead give away. You should just cut to the chase and dose fluconazole.

Agreed, and the tank looks new and already has that much, take care of it now before it goes crazy.

Thanks guys for such a quick reply . Just ordered Fluccinazole ..
Am gonna dose at 20 mg/per gallon but do you know any impact to sps ? Am getting a Bttlecoral baggie soon and hence a little worried !!!

None of mine were affected at all by the fluconazole. All of my corals looked happier during the treatment than they did before. You don't have to worry about it hurting any of your inverts. Just take your activated carbon offline for 14 days and remove your skimmer cup for 3 days for maximum effect. (Those seem to be the most impotant variables)

Thanks @Rick.45cal for the quick reply.
Can I run GFO during the treatment as I don't want the die offs to increase my phosphates and cause cyano ?

Regards,
Abhishek

Ask in the thread stickied at the top of this forum, I don't run GFO, and I know some shut it off and some didn't. That one I personally can't offer any advice on because I personally have no experience with it.
