Are your parameters "within normal limits"? Honest answers only.

I voted “other”.
They’re all within “normal” limits for my tank, but my nitrates are considerably higher than what most people consider normal, and my phosphate is a bit higher as well.

I'd have to agree that "normal" is "what's normal and working" in any given tank...

Here’s a snapshot of my tank parameters from the past week. I monitor with Apex daily, supplement with weekly tests, and confirm with monthly ICP. Granted, these are hobby-grade test kits, but still, something is better than nothing. I'm curious to know if others prefer a different approach to keeping them in check.

See nothing wrong with any of this! Nice and stable, and parameters in the generally accepted "sweet spots", right? Assuming the tank is happy...

Just a comment about timing, especially with pH - mine will vary anywhere from 8.1-8.2 at night and then increase to between 8.4-8.5 during the day. The variation is very consistent:

The little spikes in the morning are when my dosing happens. The maximum will start to creep up if the green hair algae and/or algae growth on the walls is starting to get out of control, and the minimum will creep up as the indoor CO2 concentration increases (I have a CO2 monitor beside the tank, more as a novelty than anything else). All this just helps me to understand the rhythm of the system, and helps me to better react to something that is out of the ordinary...

No, I continuously have high phosphates in both tanks. 1 to 2. Everything else is what are considered normal numbers. I did have a calcium spike in one tank of 500. I'm doing water changes and and am considering gfo.

Everything is “good” except my Po4. Currently at .25 but everything is happy and growing so it doesn’t bother me.

My nitrates are 646.0 ppm and phosphate is 33.6 ppm.

Can't seem to grow anything but fish and a few inverts through

Exactly. I mean my wife's biocube has nitrates around 30 or 40ppm. But the euphyllia that dominate the tank and other LPS and zoas in there are thriving and growing like weeds and barely grows any algae, so I don't sweat it and just let it be. My 34 red sea is SPS dominate and runs at like 3-5ppm.

There needs to be a acceptable option. Right now I'm happy with mine except maybe ph. But a week from now something else may be a little off. Just part of the game.

I think mine are all normal. At least normal for what I’m shooting for 13 month old tank. Doing pretty good. Some SPS finally surviving but not everything happy yet.

All above is Hanna. Hanna MG is always high so 1633 doesn’t bother me as it’s surely closer to 1,400-1,500. Finally got my DYI CO2 scrubbing working as I want this weekend so PH is finally good :-). hopefully media lasts longer now
