ASM G3 or Aqua C EV 120 JG

Some people in my area are selling each of these skimmers, the ASM G3 with sedra pump for $125 or the AquaC EV-120 with JG fitting/ Mag 7 pump for $150 both used. Wanted to know which was a better skimmer to go with? I have a 75 gallon DT with 30 gal sump. I plan to upgrade sometime so i wanted to get a good skimmer. Thanks

Out of those two I would go with the ASM. The AquaC's can be a little finicky.

I had the G3 before on your same exact setup (75 with a 30 gallon sump) and it worked perfect. That skimmer will handle a heavy bio-load in that system. Before I broke it down, I had the 75 crammed with coral, clams and fish and the skimmer worked like a champ. If I didn't upgrade, I would still be running it.

I have a aqua c120 packed away I would go with anything but an aquac skimmer they are a pain in the butt I run an octopus now happy with it for right now

I have a G3 and I wouldn't trade it for anything! It pulls some nasty stuff. This is about 4 days worth. Oh and I have it on my 220. It may be a G4 now that I think about it but still the same family and a great skimmer.

ASM all the way.

Easy to set, easy to maintain, and they run like champs!

Thanks guys.. The only concern i have is fitting it under my 75.. I have 26inches of clearance under the tank (in the stand) so i might have to install a reservoir mod.. Im building the sump from a 30 gallon tank deciding on weather to use glass or acrylic baffles but thats another story.. Im already planning on draining the tank more than half way, taking off the back middle support on the stand and fitting everything in that way. I want to do some pvc plummbing to that everyhing is nice and i dont have to always turn off my return to feed, change water, etc. So im looking at a big project ahead..
