I have a 36" Aquatic Life T5 hybrid

I am considering my options for LED for a mixed reef. My current thinking is to get a single Red Sea 50 over one part of my tank. It would provide shimmer as well as an area with elevated PAR for SPS. Given I have 4x T5 over a 40 B there will be lighting through the whole tank.

My goal is to have areas of low PAR and high PAR and given how shallow a 40B is I don't think i can rely entirely on depth to manage that. Plus, having one LED gives me the ability to tune the light color for viewing during "prime time". Plus plus, shimmer.

Will this strategy look ok or will it appear "off". It seems light highlighting areas of the tank with spotlights would be dramatic but I could also see it creating some bizarre shadowing.
