ATO recommendations

Does anyone have a favorite ATO and reservoir? I’ve tried googling it but the only one that really I keep seeing over and over is the RedSea ones. Are there better out there?

I’m setting up a 180 bow front tank with a 20-30 gal sump. I bought it used. The sump brand is Bashsea

I have 2 of the kamoer ATO's, one is 3.5 years old, the other is one year old, never had an issue.

I have 2 systems. One with a Tunze Osmolator and the other with a Reef Breeders Prism. They have both worked well for several years.

I have a kamoer, two JBJ (no longer made and my favorite) tunze, and a cheap Amazon unit. They all work tho I have only had the Amazon unit running for several months.

EDIT: pretty much anything can be used as a reservoir. I have 5g bucket and a couple trigger acrylic reservoirs that I bought blemished.

My Hydros controller is my ATO. I use a dosing pump for the pump and a Hydros optical sensor as an ATO sensor. My reservoir is in the garage 35ft from the tank. The pump is also in the garage. I have tubing run between the garage and the tank. I also have my ATO pumps in the garage also along with the fresh water reservoir.

Tunze is the gold standard. Ive used the nano and 3155, no issues.
I bought a 16 gallon rv water box for the reservoir, years ago.

I run Duetto2s on 2 systems and they’ve worked perfectly for about a year and half. I upgraded my one reservoir to a hmalhi and IMO the brand is not worth the price but I really do prefer having the reservoir enclosed compared to open.

I run 3 systems with the Tunze ozmo 3 and 1 with the osmo 3 nano.
