Attaching frags to back glass

Has anyone attached frags to their back glass? Any pictures? I think I am going to experiment with 2 Monti cap frags on the glass

Not on the glass but the overflow. If the glue will hold on the glass then it should work fine.

Superglue gel doesn't work too well on clean glass, but if you've got some Coralline algae growing on the back panel this will give it something to adhere to. Scuffing the glass up would also work, but you don't want to do that. Same principle though.

My back wall is covered in coralline so hopefully the glue will stick. Nemo, where can you get magnetic frag plugs? Those sound great

It won't hurt the glass, but you may have some major work scraping it later if you decide to remove it. :D

I bought some cool plastic coated magnets I attached the frags to. k and j magnetic i think.

Thats how Ive done mine-glue it to a magnetic frag disk and let it grow

I ended up glueing 2 pieces of Monti caps to the coralline covered back glass. They stayed for a few weeks then fell off. It took the coralline with when it fell off and now there are 2 bare spots on back glass. I think the caps were sticking too far out off the glass and my mp10's was eventually just too much to hold on

I glue encrusting montis to my back glass. I've found that a frag needs to be pretty light or it pulls the coralline off and falls. The smaller or thinner frags grow pretty well, i've got one colony thats about 4" diameter now

Very nice. I have a couple monti plates on my glass but was thinking of adding some branching acros to the glass as well. I'm just worried I'm not getting enough light coverage up against the glass to grow/color acros

I use Aqua Mags for my glass mounted frags, very strong. The thing about glass is it is fluid and as such it moves. Superglue will stick but unless the frag is a FAST grower, it won't stay attached.

In the process of starting up a 28 gallon rimless SPS reef. I'm going bare bottom with minimal rock with the purpose of attaching sps frags on the side walls, back wall, and bottom glass.
