My wife and I are in absolute love with the Aussie Gold Torch. Friend of ours has 4 separate heads and is willing to sell us 2. We want to know what is a fair price to spend per head on these from anybody that has purchased or seen pricing at your LFS.

Thanks,

The aussie gold torch values have gone up quite a bit ever since all the regulations and banning of importing/exporting of corals have been going on all over the world. IME, before I was able to get a head for around $60 on sale, and last I checked I've seen 1 head selling for around $100+ per head. Goodluck!

Aussie has very short tentacles as compared to Indo Torches. There's no mistaking the two at all.

the ones with stringy tentacles go for more than the ones with thicker/shorter tentacles. Shorter tentacles I’ve seen for around 40 a head, versus the stringy tentacles in the 100+ range

I just sold one retail for $199. That was for Aussie. I have heard and do see the prices on Aussie Gold Torches going up a good bit. The yearly Cites permits are running out and won't be reissued until mid summer. I've seen big named retailers selling Aussie Gold Torch for much more as of lately. Indo gold torch is much more expensive with the whole Indo ban.

Since it is a 'friend' - I guess I wouldn't expect to pay 'retail' - I would expect to pay what a retailer would pay your friend (ie. I would expect to pay a wholesale price). Indo's here are approx 200/head. I wouldn't lose a friendship over it. What might be an idea would be to find out what he/she is asking - and then post 'is this reasonable'. I think prices vary by area, etc.

Hey mate, here in Australia I got this little fella for $60 AUD. Obviously you would expect a higher proce in other areas. Sorry the photo isn't the best.
