I hate to be the one to burst this bubble butt all the nice torches come from indo and Australia. All the avengers get them from the exact same wholesalers. Sometimes certain vendors get and get one or two that sticks out from the rest of the batch, but that doesn't warrant the vendor to charge that much for it. All wholesalers charge the same price to every vendor but there are certain ones that do stick out more than the rest and I understand if they are marked up a little bit more but not by that much

They were $750 a head at the last frag swap I went to in Michigan.

Yep, I'm still kicking myself for not buying a couple of them at the frag swap I was at back in early December when they were $150. I just couldn't bring myself to spend the $$$. Of course I didn't have an issue doing it for a zoa.

I got a 3 head piece off ebay this week for $166/head. A vendor currently has them for $500/head here. Just have to watch and wait.

Take this with a grain salt, but I have talked to a few LFSs recently and I have a feeling euphylia prices aren't going down for a while, possibly even years.

The indo ban, depends if it opens up, but if not we are looking at hobbiest grown pieces which are slow to frag and thus limited supply. Regarding aussie golds, a couple of the LFS stated that US suppliers are having issue getting them. China and some other countries are paying top dollar for these corals. Because of this, US wholesalers are getting a very limited supply and are using the torches as leverage to push other stock. Thus, if a LFS wants 1 head of an aussie gold, they have to buy a significant amount of coral including the ugly ones. Unless you have a big shop that can handle that much, a small shop can only push so many brown zoas. This means that the aussie torches are also falling prey to the hobbiest grown supply.

Ive bought an indo gold last jul for 149.00. Baseball size. I later bought a aussi gold 2 head but smaller overall for 159.00. Same place now selling for 400 to 800 and fly off as soon as listed! Ive been looking hard for deals on holy grail, dragon soul and aussi gold with no luck. I don't like the thought of paying 400 to 800 plus for a nice large healthy specimen on the off chance it dies. Still looking. From a friend, i would hope to get a fair deal - prob 200 or so till the torch craze settles.

Someone on RC is selling two tiny heads ( I think it's a short tentacle ) for 400 dollars. I find that outrageous. Maybe I'm just ignorant of the price situation of these corals.

He could be asking 400 - the question is - why would he get it?
To a homeless person - paying $40 for a head would be ridiculous - isnt it all a matter of perspective?
