pH in the reef tank is a common topic in the forum. One of the biggest fears could possibly be that your pH isn't quite meeting everyone else's standards or results. Every so often I'll hear about a system that runs consistently at 8.2 -8.4 and I get envious, thinking that with the effort I put into my reef I should have these results.

Let's find out where the majority is. Maybe put the daily range in your comments as well.

If you're at one extreme or the other, tell us what you do differently. Are you running a kalk or calcium reactor for example

8.2-8.3

My family breathes way too much apparently, but with an outside air lines I am able to keep it at this level on most of my tanks. My oldest system which consumes more alk I am able to keep a little higher due to use of kalkwasser.

8.2-8.4 here. No Scrubber, or Kalk. I'm thinking I should recalibrate my probe tonight though just to be sure.

"Outside" airline (windy staircase that's maybe used by 1 other person and always has windows open) and calcium carbonate dosing to raise pH along with alkalinity, 7.8-8.3

Probably will do hydroxide at night soon to lessen that swing a bit, .5 is a bit scary to me

If my Apex, Milwaukee tester, and API kit are right then 7.6. I hoped installing an ERV would fix the problem but no luck there.

Average 8.3 but can range 8.2 - 8.4. I don't use Kalk or calcium reactor. Just dose ESV 2-part and run a fresh air line to my skimmer. 25% water change about twice a year. It's been so steady I honestly only test every other month or so.

7.8 at night and 8.05 during the day. Tank sits next to open sliders.

I tested a DIY C02 scrubber last week on my heavy SPS tank using liquid lye and a really strong airpump.

Oddly I only saw half a point of pH increase, but alk consumption went up 30% in 24hours. Not sure of what all is going on, but I was impressed at the alk consumption.

This poll needs to omit any data not coming from a calibrated digital readout, no color tube guesses allowed/ data skews

8.1 standalone, 8.4 with kalk dialed in. Give or take.

7.8-8. Not doing anything at this time to try and increase it. Thinking of trying to bring outside air into the skimmer as a starting place.
