you have to go to "checkout" on the dell website for it to calculate the final price with all the discounts. you'll also be able to figure out shipping/taxes.

this was one heck of a deal. i've been in the market for a new laptop for a while to replace my desktop.

i was about to buy a inperion system with only 2.0Ghz, 1GB RAM, dinky little graphics card and mostly no thrills for about the same cost.

this is a great deal for a 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, 256MB video card

Should of saved money on the ram and bought it after the fact, same with the hard drive. Otherwise sweet.... the better screen definitely makes a difference, I love it on my 17" screen.

the deal already had the system configured for 4GB, you can't downgrade that option. could care less about the hard drive. i'll never use up 160GB.

shoot, i've yet to fill up my current 60GB hard drive after 5 years...lol.

i wanted a 15" b/c its easier to carry around when i travel, and at home its going to be hooked to a 20" monitor anyways for photo editing detail. i have another laptop i carry back and forth b/w work and home (dell vostro), it has a 12" screen i think and is super light.
