Is it nipping on polyps or just eating something else?? Saw it doing this for the first time.

Is the coral dying or showing stress where it has nipped? I've heard of some damsels nipping corals but never the azure or yellowtail damsels.

I can't really tell. Almost looks like it is picking off bits of food or debris. Can you see bite marks or any damaged flesh?

I had an azure for many years along with a Springer. They would eat pests or any uneaten food that might land on a coral. Perhaps it's something like that?

Will keep a close watch.
