Hey y’all so my dwarf seahorses have been in the tank for 6 days. The male did not look pregnant thags why the LFS gave me the one he did. However I just get home from school and see this little guy: at first I thought it was a critter from the plant, but at second glance looks like a white seahorse! Thoughts on if it’s possible the male gave birth and one survived?

Sure is and good for you !!!! It will need both baby brine and Rotifiers, even live pods for diet and should grow at a steady rate. Lucky you that you have gorgonian in the tank for its happiness.

How can I speed up bbs hatching rate, I just found 3 seahorses in my filter and was able to save them and place them on a branch. Now I have to feed 4 babies 2 adults. BTW had no idea they were expecting :0

This is cool, congratulations on capturing this event and sharing with us. I have never kept seahorses. Wish you the best! This is a great community that can hopefully give a lot of insight into success.

This news just gets better. They need subtle water movement and best without other fish which will compete for food and deprive them of a meal. Until live arrives, you can try frozen Baby Brine as well as rotifiers, but live is the best enticer. If you call reef Nutrition, they may be able to tell you which retailers near you carry it.

Think link should help:

Wow awesome dude appreciate it! Rn I have a lot of bbs swimming around I added over 200 today but unfortunately for my luck I added a Ruby red dragonet which will eat the bbs. But this guy just focuses on the sand idk if that makes a difference. But he’s the only other occupant

I guess none of the locations by me have live rotifiers. I am going to purchase trigger pods or live mysis any preferences for which live bottle I should use?
Mysis may be way too big. The company with rotifiers does ship direct
